Studly in Studs

The first step to recovery is to admit you have a problem. I have a problem. I wear an obnoxious amount of button-up blouses. Tucked...untucked...you get the picture. This white blouse with black designs is my new favorite because of the studs at the collar. Adds a little edge factor to my top. I paired this top with red skinny jeans and black pumps. Maybe I'm a little crazy but maybe there is just nothing better than a crisp white blouse...with studs.

Stylin' Sleepwear

It's not often that there is a "Who Wore It Better?" over a garment that us civilians can afford. Pajama pants worn as actual pants are apparently a thing and I plan to take full advantage of this trend. Think ankle pants. Pair them with anything from smoking slippers to t-strap heels. Give them a rock n' roll edge like Jessica Alba or a preppy twist like Michelle Williams.

Sock-tastic

So...socks are in. We'll technically they are out where the world can see them, but you get the point. Whether barely above your ankle boots, peeking out of your riding boots or knee-high with oxfords, socks are making a comeback in a big way. Time to open your dresser drawer and assess your sock situation. My suggestion is to go with something with a feminine flair like the lacy black ones above. I'll work up the nerve to try this trend but you better believe I'm going to wait until I find the perfect pair of socks.

The Cat's (Eye) Meow

Who doesn't love a good cat eye? This one is a bit more dramatic than usual but with the right outfit and event, it can be a major outfit "maker." To make it last all night, use eyeliner and top with dark shadow. Keep your blush and lip color minimal.

Beckham to Back Me Up

My girlfriends may think that I own one too many pairs of high-waisted pants/shorts/etc. and maybe a few too many loose blouses but then I come across this photo of the always lovely Victoria Beckham, and I remember why these are a part of my staple style. Yes, it's not flashy or "sexy" but it's me...and it's Victoria Beckham. Can't argue with that.

Hammer Time

During a shopping trip with my friends, Amanda and Amanda, I did what I always do...find a bunch of pieces that are cute but perhaps hard to wear. And then I did what I also always do...my best catwalk strut up and down the isle of the dressing room, convincing myself and my friends that they are "totally wearable." A few looks of concern and "well, they are definitely 'you'" comments, I pulled the trigger. These MC Hammer-style pants are from Forever 21 and were a steal in my book. Plus, pants like these aren't going to be in style forever so who wants to empty their bank account on them? Not this cat.

Call Me Maybe, Copper

And here we have it...my newest polish obsession. Stepped out of my comfort zone with China Glaze but very happy to do that for any polish brand that has an entire collection dedicated to The Hunger Games. This coppery goodness, appropriately named Harvest Moo, is glittery madness.

Channeling Dorothy

Okay...so more like I'm channeling Dorothy meets the Wicked Witch of the West. Whatever. They are patent leather, red and kind of corky. Right up my alley. Plus, I like anything with a bow on it. They feel like presents! Plus, red is all the rage right now so I can't NOT buy red shoes.

This is ZOE Major

Jockey and Rachel Zoe are having a baby!! Well, not literally but you know what I mean. Jockey knows comfort and Rachel Zoe knows all things glam. So, wam bam - new collection! This collaboration of intimates and shapewear are made of vibrant colors and patterns. But honestly, when it comes to comfort, we know it's all about the fabric.

Big is Beautiful

Baggy sweaters are in? I can die a happy gal. Sure they are unflattering and you'll never get a boyfriend wearing one, but lordy are they comfortable. You won't see me wearing my sweaters with leather shorts, patterned tights or skirts...more like leggings or skinnies, but regardless, they are in style so I'm covered. You can thank me later on this one.

Galloping into Our Wardrobe

When I was shopping a few weeks ago, a mustard blouse with horses all over it jumped out at me. I had to have it. Then, I open up a magazine about a week ago and this honey in the middle was wearing the same shirt. I knew I liked it for a reason. If I can't be a celebrity, I might as well have the same blouse as one. Can I get an amen?

Totes Tartan

Tartan is for ladies, too! Check out these beauties making it happen with their plaid. Killin' it in the kilt look.

Let's Talk Tartan

I will not often post on men's style or trends but my mother has made a special request. Here is one men's trend that I'm all over. Tartan. Think kilt. If there is one pattern men should be buying this season, it's tartan. Just go on back to your roots, boys with this plaid look. Get this pattern on a scarf, on a shirt or even on a tie. A tartan button-up goes perfectly with your favorite pair of jeans, a cardigan, a Patagonia vest, a light jacket or a tie. This is one trend my dad will be pumped about. Easy, breezy, beautiful...tartan.

Next to Nothing Nude

Looking for another way to look a little more awake? Try nude eyeliner! Kind of unexpected, if you ask me. Nude eyeliner is also great for perfecting subtle eyes when trying out a bold lipstick.

You're Making Me Blush

Blush is a fabulously underrated color. Yes, it can be slightly difficult to pull off as a blog but nothing to be a scared of. This unexpected pinky hue is classic and feminine.

Nothing but Neutrals

Sometimes you just have to go back to basics...neutrals, in this case. What's fabulous about these neutral-toned items is that all of them have a little flair. The trousers are wide so your legs will look 10 miles long. The light sweater has studs on the top, the perfect little accessories. These pumps are a little aggressive but perfect peeking out from under these brown pants. The earrings and clutch bring it all together. This outfit just proves you don't have to wear loud colors to look spectacular and get noticed.

Metallic Madness

I'm going to keep rolling with the metallic madness. If I'm going to start out this new week, I'm going to need something sassy to help get me motivated. I do believe a new polish job will do. This OPI shade, Number One Nemesis, is the perfect mix of fall shade and metallic. Don't be shy...branch out with a equally as intriguing shade.

Glitz & Glam

Glitz and glamour are perfect for the fall when it comes to accessories. Chunky and blingy statement jewelry is the perfect solution for spicing up your everyday wardrobe. 1. Blue and Green Stone Necklace 2. Black and Nude Earrings 3. Gold Collar Necklace 4. Stone Ring 5. Multiple Stone Ring 6. Cuff

Cute & Comfy? I'll take 1..or 10.

It's a romper. It's leopard print. It's comfortable enough to sleep in. It's Betsey Johnson. I probably don't need to go on...but, of course, I will. Sleep rompers are my new favorite thing. I'd suggest following my lead on this one...cute and comfy. Nothing better than that combo. Read more about why I love them here: http://trendyproblems.com/ready-to-romp/

Hope Starts Here

In preparation for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, I decided to go the extra mile with these pink ribbon-inspired nails. There is nothing like doing a little something to show your support for such an amazing cause.

Cocktail Season? Sure.

It's cocktail season...or did I just make that up? Ok, well for the sake of all of our favorite cutesy cocktail dresses, we will say there is a season for it and it's now. With that said, I want this dress and all of these girlie glam goodies that I've placed with it. These pumps bring out the metallic fun in the dress. The earrings  and clutch kick up the bling a notch. Top off this gorgeous outfit with the lipstick and some a spritz of this Givenchy perfume.

Cheap Thrills

When you are out scouting for the perfect outfits for your bestie's birthday, it's a matter of life or death (well not literally but sometimes it does seem that way). If you live in NYC, I'd imagine that only kicks the pressure up a notch or two. Let's talk about these platform heels for a hot minute. These are major. The metallic platform is everything and more. Rachel Zoe would be feeling these, I just know it. Jamie, you nailed it with these heels, honey. The best part is, she found them at Forever 21. I know, right? Find of the century. Hats off to you, Jamie...from Florida to NYC.

Lips & Tips

I'm always on the polish grind...as in, if it's new and it's sassy, I need it. Tried this new polish recently and am a huge fan. I found it at Ulta. This company not only makes glam polish, but lip glosses and other products as well. Grab their "Lips & Tips" gift box for a girlfriend this holiday season or...as I always say, treat yourself!

Chopped-Down Cowboy

Want the perfect twist on cowboy boots? These Michael Kors ankle boots are the ultimate solution. If they would show up at my door in a size 6, I wouldn't be upset about it. Perfect with a dress or skinnies, I need them. Find these at stylebop.com

Lipstick Lover

Whoa obnoxious photo. But how else does one get across their point of how marvelous their oxblood lipstick is? Whatever. If you have lips made for lipstick, use them. This particular color is by Estee Lauder and is called Electrified. Who comes up with these names? Electrified clearly sounds like a hot pink. Either way, cheers to this shade.

Home Sweet Beach

You might find this picture a bit rude if you don't live here but I do, it's gorgeous and I can't help but share. Come visit if you'd like. Guests welcome.

Can't Take the Indiana Out of the Girl

Sometimes in life, there are more important things than trendy items. This isn't totally one of those times because it just so happens that my best friend, Kaitlin, found me the perfect sentimental gift that is conveniently also trendy. This precious Indiana-shaped necklace by Maya Brenner is the ultimate early birthday gift. I'm through-the-roof excited to sport this beauty around Florida with some home state pride. Over 1,000 miles away from friends and family but Indiana's right here, above my heart. (Don't get used to the sentimental blog posts.)

On Wednesdays We Wear Oxblood

Sometimes you just gotta roll with the trends...thank God this trend isn't painful (to look at and physically) like butterfly clips or braided chokers. Oxblood is big time this fall and the best part is...it looks great on everyone. Find ways to incorporate it on your lips, as your purse, in your skirt or like me...on my little tootsies.

All That Glitters is Gold

Guess I can't exactly continually post on how trendy metallics are and then not buy metallic polish. Ulta suckered me in with some Buy One, Get One deal and voila...new polish. I must say, not only does this nail polish stay on your nails longer without chipping but it's kinda (super) glamorous. I'd suggest hitting up your closest OPI retailer.

Bella Needs Her Beauty Sleep

It's a rough life being my cat. Bella thought it was enough to have a emerald blinged-out collar and girlie name tag but no, now she's got to use fashion magazines as pillows. Osmosis doesn't work here, Bella. Treats for trying though.

Trenches: Totes Trendy

What is a better staple piece than a trench coat? Don't even ask a silly question like that. Everyone should own a trench, even men! Toss it over your suit for work, throw it on over your dress...you get the picture. There are a million styles...short, long, tie-belt, etc. in a variety of colors and materials. Pick your poison, honey. Even though it's not ever really chilly enough for any type of coat here, you know I've got two trenches posted up in my closet, waiting for their time to shine. Find this coat above at www.armaniexchange.com.

White Does Wonders

We all drag on Monday mornings heading to work. I don't know about you, but when I'm dragging, you can tell in my eyes. Here is a little trick that makeup artists use and I swear by...dab some white eyeshadow in the corners of your eyes for a little pick-me-up. You will instantly look more awake and your eyes will look better. I mean, who wouldn't want to look all angelic like this beauty above? I do.

Fab and Full-Skirted

Here's a trend I'm a huge fan of: full skirts. If you are looking for an item to spice up your fall wardrobe, this is it. While these skirts are feminine, they aren't too girlie. It's perfect for every figure, even petites like me.  There is a certain romance to full skirts. It's 1950's meets 2012 and I'm not mad about it. Pair these pieces with slouchy t-shirts, tanks, long sleeve blouses or even a light sweater. I'm no expert, but I'd say keep them around for a little spring loving in 2013.

Revved Up Romantic

Floral pants are a must...I've said it before and I'll say it again. For this particular outfit, I'm feeling the mixture of the lacy top with the patterned pants. There is a certain romantic element to this ensemble. This shoes are major as are all of the expensive little gold accessories I've chosen to go along with this getup.

Belt it, Babe

Ok...so maybe I don't have to worry about winter coats...at all...but you might if you don't reside down here in the tropical weather. Fall and winter coats often have the "television effect" and add 10 pounds to your figure. Choosing a jacket or coat with a belt helps solve that problem. Placed at the tiniest part of your waist, the belt adds a little definition to your figure. Girl's got to stay warm but can't be looking frumpy. Problem solved, northerners. Hide Your Wallet...From Yourself

Our girl Rebecca MInkoff has done it again. She has launched another fabulous fashion must-have - sparkly, beautiful jewelry! She has created amazing pieces perfect for making a statement, which any true diva lives for. Pieces range from $48-$498...perfect for babes on a budget AND those who don't mind splurging on a treat for themselves. Find these gorge goodies at www.rebeccaminkoff.com!

Dry Shamp like a Champ

When it comes to hair products, I've tried them all. What I've learned is to stick with what works, whether it costs $20 (unfortunately) or $2 (#winning). There has never been a better product invented than dry shampoo and I can promise you every other girl in the world agrees. For someone with thick hair that gets told monthly by her hair stylist to not wash her hair daily, this is my savior. Spray day-old roots with your choice of dry shampoo, brush through and style as normal. Bonus: dry shampoo lightens up my dark brunette roots (shh..don't tell) and keeps my color looking fresh. My choice: Suave Dry Shampoo (less than $3 and works better than my old fave, Big Sexy Hair)

Navy...Now

A new week means a new nail color. Yeung did it again...brought this beautiful navy into my life and onto my nails. Essie made this one and it has just the right amount of sparkle to it. It's the perfectly unexpected twist to the typical dark fall/winter hue.

A Twist of Lime

Let's face it...I can get away with wearing shorts and sleeveless shirts well into "winter." That's the beauty of Florida. I was beyond excited to wear these new lime green high-waisted shorts this weekend for a night out with my girlfriends. Paired with a feminine top and sky-high wooden-heeled heels, I had a little extra pep in my step. Shoes: Michael Kors Blouse: Saks Shorts: Forever 21 Beer: Bell's Two Hearted

Fave Fashion Week Looks

Okay...so many this is just a clump of things I loved from New York Fashion Week. Let's be real though...my eyes were mostly drawn to this sassy leopard cuff in the bottom left. Get on my wrist...right meow.

Banish that Boyish Bod

Have a boyish figure? Flat chest...minimal hips...you know, the works? Let me let you in on a little secret. Peplum, girlfriend...peplum. Peplum tops and dresses draw attention to your tiniest waist section and create the illusion of curves with the skirted fabric. It's genius, really. Olivia, above, is no Kim Karashian. But, this peplum top does help give her a little va-va-VIXEN edge.

Polish Power

Ok...so maybe I've gone fall color crazy. Can you blame me? These colors are funky fab. I'm particularly enjoying this smokey gray...good on all skin tones. Have a little fun this season with a little added glitz and glam in your autumn shades, like the Nicole polishes directly above.

Collars - Comin' In Hot

Peter Pan called...he wants his costume's collar back. Juuuuust kidding. These colors, ranging in metals to sequins to gems, are the must-have accessory right now. These can glam up a silk blouse and are perfect over a thin turtleneck sweater for fall. Bored with your blouse and blazer routine for work? This is your easy fix solution, honey. Consider this your outfit's statement piece...one you are sure to get compliments on (who doesn't love that?).

Suri's Mama Sans Drama

I'll tell you this...I'm as against divorce as the next hopeless romantic, but let's face it...divorce has never looked better on anyone. Katie Holmes looks sultry and has a little bit of a "man-eater" aura about her. I'm all about these suspenders and have been keeping my eyes peeled for the perfect pair...nothing flashy and as little of a grandpa feel as possible (not an easy task). Note that Katie's rocking the blunt bangs I talked about earlier. She's on it this season.

Midnight in Moscow

It's that time of the year. Whether you are in south Florida, LA, Chicago, NYC...it's time for the dark polish takeover. Of course it's too hot for fur vests, sweaters and world's cutest earmuffs but the least I can do is slap on some licorice-esqe nail polish and go with the seasons...and of course by "the least I can do" I mean...the least my favorite nail artist, Yueng, can do. Kudos, Yeung. They are flawless.

Onward and Ombre

Ombre is contagious. It's in our hair color...it's on our nails...and it's made it's way to our lips. I'm not sure I'll be running out to try this out in my salt life surroundings but if I was living in big city status in NYC, I'd give this a go. Why not? To get this look and for maximum staying-power, fill in lips with a bright red lipliner. Next, take a dark burgundy lipstick and smudge just along the center on your top and bottom lips. It kind of has a little vampy appeal, doesn't it? True blood lips, if you will.
