Big Heels, Big Hair, Big Honor

While I'm perhaps the most inconsistent blogger of all time (my apologies, of course). Thank you to Charlene from Tartanmouth for nominating me - cheers to you! As part of the tradition, I must answer the questions Charlene has selected for my audience's reading pleasure. Happy reading.

1. What do you think is the hardest thing about blogging? For me, the hardest thing about blogging is keeping up with the madness. After staring at a computer screen all day at work, working on the computer for my blog once I'm home is a true struggle sometimes.

2. Who was your embarrassing teenage crush? I loved Justin Timberlake...but we all know the only thing embarrassing about that was his frosted tips and poodle hair.

3. If you could change something about your past, would you? Wouldn't everyone? I would definitely like to redo some of my questionable fashion choices...and perhaps studied a little more...

4. Which three celebrities (dead or alive) would you like to go on a night out with? Oh, that's easy...John F. Kennedy, Beyonce and Alexander McQueen.

5. What's something that you wish you were better at? Waking up in the morning...I'm zombie-status every morning.

6. What's your favourite meal to cook? Well, if you know me, you know I don't enjoy cooking at all. So, ordering Chinese food would be my "favorite meal to cook."

7. What are the qualities you look for in a friend? Loyalty, compassion, a sense of humor and a love for tequila.

8. What would be your ideal job? I'd most love to be a personal shopper and stylist.

9. If you had to wear the same outfit every day, what would you pick? Boyfriend jeans, a white J.Crew v-neck, leopard print heels and red lips.

10. What is your favourite Disney film? The Little Mermaid - my brother still complains that I watched it everyday as a little girl. Sorry, brother. Ariel is just so beach chic.

11. Would you rather go on a city break or a beach holiday? I live by the beach but it never gets old. I find the beach much more relaxing and peaceful than a big city. But...the city is where the shopping is!

Happy Houndstooth and New Year

I recall, and might I add...very clearly...disliked houndstooth when I was a little girl. But, as my mother always told me, things are cyclical. And just like that...houndstooth is back and cuter than ever. This dress (from Target...get out, right?) is thick enough for a true northern winter outfit or worn alone for a southern "winter" day of 75 degrees. I paired this fab find with black tights, black pumps, a crisp white button up top and a tassel necklace. And of course, I topped off this outfit with red lips (NYX matte lip color). I'd suggest snagging this dress while it's available!

"Ring" in 2014!

True...I am a jewelry junkie. So, it only makes sense that we "ring in" the new year with some fabulous finger candy!

Tortoise Touch

While back in my college town of Bloomington, Indiana, my bestie and I ventured into one of our favorite vintage shops. Cactus Flower on Kirkwood Avenue has the perfect mix of truly vintage finds (the entire upstairs portion) and new trendy items. We fell in love with this comb-like accessory. Tortoise shell with a bow? Lordy...too precious. This is the perfect touch to my already large and in charge hair style. $6 and she was all mine. Come to mama..

Travel in Style

What is trendier than being home for the holidays? Absolutely nothing, honey.

Big Heels, Big Hair hopes you had a wonderful holiday season and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Stoppin' Bottles

Bar carts are all the rage right now and can sass up any home. With wine being one of many people's drink of choice, having some fancy and fashionable bottle stoppers is totes necessary. Below are some of my favorites that I've stumbled across.
1. Rablabs Garra in "Grass"
2. Jonathan Adler Horse Head
3. South African Brass Giraffe
4.Thomas Fuchs Creative Black Skull
5. Asprey Stag Head
6. Rablabs Lia

But, Really...

If the shoe fits, wear it!

Fuchsia Fresh

Typically when I'm out and about shopping, I'm wearing whatever is comfortable and for the most part, presentable. However, sometimes you need to just have a little fun with your outfit, even if going to cause you world's worst blisters...
These suede fuchsia pumps, from Zara, are my everything. Sure, they are undeniably impractical. But...most importantly...they are princessy and perfect.

Totally Tortoise

Bauble Bar has some fabulous new tortoise necklaces that I was convinced I "needed"...which of course, means "wanted"...a lot. But, when my best friend and I were scouring TJ Maxx for home decor, I stumbled across this beauty. Bling and tortoise...perfection. And most importantly, another sassy necklace for my layering obsession.

Funky in Flannel

While it's still warm in Florida, it's fun to still dress seasonally. This red and black flannel top, from H&M, is the perfect versatile top for fall and winter. I paired this top with black leggings and leopard print flats to mix things up a bit. Need some other ideas for how to wear this top? Here's a few...
1. Try this top with a high-waisted tulle skirt (below the knees in length) and fun heels.
2. Leave this top untucked with skinny jeans and riding boots.
