This Little Light of Mine

While my living room has a variety of colors, my guest room and master bedroom aren't so lucky. I'm a victim of the belief in all white bedrooms. But can you really just have white from floor to ceiling without feeling like you're in a sterile hospital room? I think not. You need some splashes of color here and there to give the room some life, per say. Here is a gentle way to introduce that color - a lamp with both white AND another hue. Find yours at HomeGoods! Shop on, sisters.

Everyday Eclectic

My gal pal, Kaitlin, was coming to town so it was time for a deep clean on our apartment. And when it's clean, we take a photo because it seems like a rare treat! This photo highlights my favorite room in our home - the living room. I am not someone who uses brown in my home (the wall paint color came with the apartment - I probably would have done two tons of grey). I love our mix of patterns, colors and textures. It's truly eclectic in here - a little bit of everything...just the way I like it. Looks like Zella approves, too.

Pom Poms for the Pillows

I can admit it...I am overkill with throw pillows. My boyfriend thinks I have a serious problem and that's because I do. But this pillow...this pillow is just one step closer to perfection. Pom poms on pillows? Brilliant, people! This pillow shown is just a plain, crisp white pillow but HomeGoods had them in tan/white stripes and black/white strips (believe me, if they had the black/white at my HomeGoods, there would be two on my bed as we speak). Such a fun spin on a "necessity" like a throw pillow (men, hold your scoffing).

Big Bowl of (HomeGoods) Happy

If there is one place I could spend hours on end, it'd be HomeGoods (that's probably a lie...let's not forget about Sephora, Nordstrom, Target). I can only really compare it to treasure hunting. I've been longing for the blue and white patterned china-like pieces I've been seeing but this slightly muted red option is such an unexpected gem. At $12.99, it's the perfect accessory - use in the kitchen for fruit, out on the coffee table as decor or even sitting upright on your mantle. I'm pretty proud of this find.

Shake It Like a Dog Shaker?

So, it's true. I'm slightly obsessed with wiener dogs and wiener dog items...but, don't actually own one of these pups. Thank goodness boyfriend like these beauts too so they are the newest addition to our kitchen! They even have gold noses - I could pass out from the cuteness! Go get your own set at Target for $7.99!
Total steal.

Apartment to "Home"

When my boyfriend and I moved in together, we slowly realized we needed to make our apartment a home for both of us. We sold couches, coffee tables, etc. and searched for the perfect pieces that we'd both love. This blue chair is our favorite find (from Marshalls). We found the couch at Ashley Furniture (someone HAD to have a chaise lounge...) and we love it (but...so do our pets). This coffee table is what I'm most thrilled about. We bought it off Craigslist for $20. It was originally black metal but in true Kacey fashion, I spray painted it gold (with help of handy boyfriend). To tie it all together, we agreed on this rug from Rugs USA (and at a great 60% off price, too!).

With our living room coming together, I feel like Chicago is truly "home" now:)

Home Sweet Home

Well, we are all moved in. We have purchased the cute blue chair above (Homegoods, duh!) and we are looking to reinvent our whole living room. Out with my boyfriend's bachelor pad black leather couches and in with the sophisticated couch/chaise lounge in a nice neutral color. Next up, we are adding a little texture to our hard wood floors with a cow hide rug. Our general tendency is to go for a modern/rustic chic vibe so we would tie that in with a metal table. We currently have an awesome steer skull hanging over the blue chair I'm pretty obsessed with that corner of the room. Eclectic is the name of my game. Home sweet home.

Palm Printing, People!

If you aren't wearing palm print, what are you even wearing? Ok, that might have been a smidge dramatic. All I'm saying is...it's in, it's cute and I'm on board. Try this print in a romper, dress, scarf or even on some decorative pillows! I've even seen this as a print, framed and hung on a wall for decor. Talk about versatile!

Statement Sequins

If you love sequins and all things girlie and glamourous, then these hangers are right up your alley. Use them as a fun statement piece for your home decor. You can showcase your favorite necklaces on these hangers or use them as decoration all alone. Find these on Etsy by clicking here. Thank you to my girl, Kaitlin, for pointing this Etsy shop out to me! What a perfect find.

Ferocious Furniture

Loud and trendy accessories don't have to be limited to jewelry, makeup and purses...add a splash of fun to your home decor as well with a fun piece like this cow print chair. My friend, Christen, just added this chair to her living room and it's a great complement to her red love seat and couch. Add a punch of print to your home!
