Layer Love

Gold. Layering. Chains. Snakes. Rhinestones. I...am...in...heaven.
Soul sister, Jamie, does it again this week with a wonderfully fabulous gold necklace duo. These layered necklaces, both from Bauble Bar, are perfect together...adds dimension but it's overpowering. I'm loving the gold against the hot pink. Work it, girl.

White Done Right: Part Two

I'm all about peach right now. So why not do a softer outfit for the weekend while still getting your last dance with your favorite white pants. This Alice + Olivia top plays a very feminine role in the outfit and I'm all lovey eyes about it. These Steve Madden heels, which are similar to my favorite Zara heels, keep the focus on the pop of peach color. The tribal bag, from Charlotte Russe (what a steal!) adds some print to this whole scene. The knot earrings, also from Charlotte Russe, and the spiked cuff brings some bling and edge to the girlie and soft vibe. Mama likes.

Last Chance White...Done Right

If you follow the "no white after Labor Day" rule, time is ticking for you, honey. Get out those fresh white pants and start planning your outfit for the weekend before the whites get placed in the closet, not to see light for many moons. I'm loving a little color blocking with the white pants for a fun weekend look. This hot pink top (from Tibi) plays nicely with the Saako Design teal necklace and yellow Yves Saint Laurent heels. Keep the rest of the accessories simple with jewelry like these Tory Burch earrings and H&M stacked rings. It's the summer, so keep the makeup light with Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream and a pink summerly gloss stick.

Emerald Envy

I love any opportunity to show off how lovely my friends are...so here she is, my gal pal Grace again! On her trip to California with her new fiance, Grace strutted her stuff in Napa in this getup. Of course I am obsessing over this skirt - not only my favorite color but also the Pantone color of the year! Perfect length, as well. The graceful bun is a great way to highlight and feature such a pretty and fresh face.

Broach Brilliance

My girlfriend, Jamie, is oh so fabulous today in this Gap shirt and vintage broach combo. Big Heels, Big Hair couldn't pass up the opportunity to feature her fab look! Living in New York City means Jamie gets to flaunt this big city style trend on the streets of The Big Apple. Like Jamie, I've found some of my favorite jewelry pieces at a vintage store or from an older loved one...take a stab at it yourself!

All Tied Up

Sometimes I throw on mix-match sweats and t-shirts when I'm out and about running errands and sometimes I like to look presentable. With a trip to the salon on my calendar for yesterday, I decided to put on makeup for the first time in days and put in a little effort. This maxi skirt from Ann Taylor is the perfect summer shade and the perfect fabric for comfort. I paired the maxi skirt with one of my five identical J.Crew white v-necks. However, the knot changes it up a little bit. Since the skirt is high-waisted, putting the shirt up in a knot worked out perfectly. To add another pop of collar, I threw on this J.Crew necklace. I kept the shoes neutral (plus glitter, of course). These sandals are from Target.

Floral & Flirty

I needed a little pick-me-up today. So, I did the only thing I know how to do...create an outfit that would take me from down in the dumps to up on cloud nine. This dress, by AnM, is the definition of feminine. It's floral, feminine AND flowy. To make sure I didn't compete with the fun dress, I chose these basic nude heels from Zara, a hot pink ostrich clutch from Target and these Charming Charlie rose gold bracelets.

Suits With Sass

Keeping with the summer essentials trend, I decided to browse for the best suits around. Whether you prefer one-piece suits or barely there bikinis, I've found some keepers. From top right, clockwise: We Are Handsome Tiger One-Piece, Wonderland Zowie Nude Bikini, Topshop Black Jagged Edge Bikini, Mara Hoffman Frida V-Wire Bikini, Tara Matthews Ruched Bandeau Bikini, We Are Handsome Retro One-Piece

Summer Sunnies

You need a fresh new pair of sunnies to truly take on summertime by storm. I've broken it down above by some of the top three shapes right now...round, cat eye and all things funky and fun!

Cat Eye: (Left) Prada  (Right) Stella McCartney

Summer Must-Have

While this is a year-round essential here in the sandy state of Florida, this is absolutely a must for everyone else, too! I've done the leg work and above are some of the cutest beach bags in the business. 1) Flora Bella Nappa Beach Tote  2) Lalu La Spiaggia Gold Weave Beach Bag  3) Haremlique Instanbul Hasbahce Beach Bag  4) Banago Malaya Tote in Rhombus Design  5) Vintage XL Multi Color Woven Beach Bag  6) Felix Rey Banana Bliss Straw

Expose Those Toes

I'm all about crazy polish colors. I've done lime green, orange, white, gold...you get the point. With that said, there is something to be said for hot pink nails. I'm talking neon, highlighter, in-your-face pink. That's my style. This shade, called 24/7, is from Sinful Colors ($2). I'm sporting this one my toes and fingers as my color of the week. Most importantly, goes perfect with a summer tan...that's all that really matters when you live in Southwest Florida anyways, huh?

Dinner Party Do

What is a gal to wear to a friend's dinner party? It sure seemed like the perfect time to bust out these new snakeskin shorts from H&M ($12.95). I went on a rampage in my closet, trying on five different tops with these shorts but ultimately opted for this t-shirt (H&M - $7) and this blazer (Kardashian Kollection). I wore my silver scalloped necklace (Judy's Antiques) and a top knot. For shoes, I tied in a little subtle snakeskin with these White House, Black Market wedges. It was a success!

Truer Words Have Never Been Spoken

When I saw this leather sleeved t-shirt at Target, there was no way I was leaving the store without it. I mean, this blog basically runs on the belief that the higher you tease your hair and the higher your heels, the closer to you are to heaven. So, why not announce it on your shirt? I paired this top with dark skinnies (Paige Denim), Aldo black patent leather heels, massive blingy earrings from Judy's Antiques. For my daily arm party, I went with spikes, snakes and skulls to keep the bad gal feel. For my hair, I used my new Remington curling wand (my first experience with a "wand"). I'm a huge fan!

Funky Friday

It's fun to mix two of my favorite colors...not to mention throwing in some leopard print and layering. Holy fashion heaven. This J.Crew pink sweater is perfect for layering with my Forever 21 white collared shirt. These acid-washed teal pants (H&M) are cute as can be all rolled and ready to rock. I layered this necklace (from Charlotte Russe - $10) in my usual fashion. To throw in a curve ball and since everything was getting a bit "matchy matchy", I opted for these leopard flats. Voila - fun Friday outfit!

Scary (Corporate) Spice

If I can find ways to sneak in some of my favorite trends into my work outfits, I'm all about it. This top, from TJ Maxx (for probably $12.99) works perfectly with my mustard pencil skirt (H&M). I layered on my scalloped silver necklace (from Judy's Antiques - $1), dressing up the skull patterned top. I wore my black patent leather Aldo sky-high heels to finish off the outfit. Plus, what a perfect time to flaunt my new skull bracelet from Charming Charlie! Love.

A Splash of Spikes

I am so jazzed about these fun pants, that I had to bring them out of the closet again. The first time I sported these patterned pants, I opted for a Kurt Cobain shirt...such a fun twist. This time, I went with a spiked top (from TJ Maxx) to add some edge. For heels, I went with my tall, black, patent leather Aldo heels. To finish off the look, I chose a red lip stain (L'Oreal) and a top knot (duh).

Twist of Lime

A short trip to Charming Charlie turned into quite the adventure for my friend, Mary, and I. Not only did we find amazing arm party pieces, but I found this lime scarf which I "had to have". This is the ultimate summer accessory. Am I right or am I right? What screams summertime more than limes? When I saw this scarf, I was mentally taken to a place or margaritas and beach life. To keep things fresh, I kept the rest of the outfit completely white. My white pants (H&M) and white v-neck (J.Crew) kept things simple and truly made the scarf and lime green loafers (TJ Maxx) pop. I topped off the outfit with some fresh arm candy (from Charming Charlie, Francesca's, Forever 21 and H&M).

Time for Teal

It's no coincidence that a large amount of teal items have suddenly appeared in my closet, polish collection and bathroom drawers. Such a fun color for summer! This headwrap, which I'm totally pumped about, is from Francesca's and is the perfect solution for second day hair (beach waves, straight or curly!). This ring is from Charming Charlie and is quite the statement piece. Spice up an ordinarily plain outfit with accessories like these and watch your look transform.

Layer It On

Even in the summer, I'm a huge fan of layering. It spices up plain sweaters, button-ups, t-shirts, etc. It's the perfect way to make a piece you wear all the time look completely new and different. I love this chambray shirt and honestly, I probably wear it too often. This striped t-shirt (Target - little girl's section...seriously) has some details of it's own but takes on a whole new life over the denim. I paired these layered tops with these fun watermelon Gap trousers, Target nude patent leather flats, a sock bun and this polka dot makeup bag-turned-clutch from Forever 21.

Can't Touch This

I'm all about funky pants. The closer they are to something MC Hammer would wear, the more I'm likely to wear them. I'm not sure what it is that I like about high-waisted pants so much. Is it that they are usually stretchy so when I pig out at lunch, my belly is hidden? Is it that I'm just all too attracted to anything that slightly resembles something a 70-year-old would wear? Either way, you better believe when I'm prancing around in these bad boys (from Target), "Can't Touch This" is on repeat in my head.
