Jorts Jivin'

Jorts are at the end of a lot of jokes but all jokes aside, I am digging this version of jean shorts. This look is honestly classy. The key with jorts is to not let them be too tight. Too often, women and girls think that clothing needs to be super tight to look good. No thank you, ladies. If the jorts I wore above were tight, this outfit would be foul. Paired with an boyfriend-style blazer and some sexy heels...voila! Jorts done right. Give it a go this spring!

Pop of Pink

I've been waiting to wear this kitty shirt for about 6 months and this was the day. The sequined pink glasses on the cat made it extra sassy. I paired this shirt (which I found in the little girls section) with a navy and white striped button up (from H&M), navy boyfriend pants and pink Zara suede heels. I'm obsessed, still.

Funky in Flannel

While it's still warm in Florida, it's fun to still dress seasonally. This red and black flannel top, from H&M, is the perfect versatile top for fall and winter. I paired this top with black leggings and leopard print flats to mix things up a bit. Need some other ideas for how to wear this top? Here's a few...
1. Try this top with a high-waisted tulle skirt (below the knees in length) and fun heels.
2. Leave this top untucked with skinny jeans and riding boots.

Layer It Up

This white button up shirt is my best friend, my soulmate. I wear it with just about everything. Now that it's "winter" (in the 80's here today, however), it was time to add a little dimension to my work dresses. Throwing this white top under my dresses make it feel like an entirely new garment! Not to mention, these colors are quite perfect for the holiday season.

Last Chance White...Done Right

If you follow the "no white after Labor Day" rule, time is ticking for you, honey. Get out those fresh white pants and start planning your outfit for the weekend before the whites get placed in the closet, not to see light for many moons. I'm loving a little color blocking with the white pants for a fun weekend look. This hot pink top (from Tibi) plays nicely with the Saako Design teal necklace and yellow Yves Saint Laurent heels. Keep the rest of the accessories simple with jewelry like these Tory Burch earrings and H&M stacked rings. It's the summer, so keep the makeup light with Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream and a pink summerly gloss stick.

Dinner Party Do

What is a gal to wear to a friend's dinner party? It sure seemed like the perfect time to bust out these new snakeskin shorts from H&M ($12.95). I went on a rampage in my closet, trying on five different tops with these shorts but ultimately opted for this t-shirt (H&M - $7) and this blazer (Kardashian Kollection). I wore my silver scalloped necklace (Judy's Antiques) and a top knot. For shoes, I tied in a little subtle snakeskin with these White House, Black Market wedges. It was a success!

Scary (Corporate) Spice

If I can find ways to sneak in some of my favorite trends into my work outfits, I'm all about it. This top, from TJ Maxx (for probably $12.99) works perfectly with my mustard pencil skirt (H&M). I layered on my scalloped silver necklace (from Judy's Antiques - $1), dressing up the skull patterned top. I wore my black patent leather Aldo sky-high heels to finish off the outfit. Plus, what a perfect time to flaunt my new skull bracelet from Charming Charlie! Love.

A Splash of Spikes

I am so jazzed about these fun pants, that I had to bring them out of the closet again. The first time I sported these patterned pants, I opted for a Kurt Cobain shirt...such a fun twist. This time, I went with a spiked top (from TJ Maxx) to add some edge. For heels, I went with my tall, black, patent leather Aldo heels. To finish off the look, I chose a red lip stain (L'Oreal) and a top knot (duh).

Twist of Lime

A short trip to Charming Charlie turned into quite the adventure for my friend, Mary, and I. Not only did we find amazing arm party pieces, but I found this lime scarf which I "had to have". This is the ultimate summer accessory. Am I right or am I right? What screams summertime more than limes? When I saw this scarf, I was mentally taken to a place or margaritas and beach life. To keep things fresh, I kept the rest of the outfit completely white. My white pants (H&M) and white v-neck (J.Crew) kept things simple and truly made the scarf and lime green loafers (TJ Maxx) pop. I topped off the outfit with some fresh arm candy (from Charming Charlie, Francesca's, Forever 21 and H&M).

Layer It On

Even in the summer, I'm a huge fan of layering. It spices up plain sweaters, button-ups, t-shirts, etc. It's the perfect way to make a piece you wear all the time look completely new and different. I love this chambray shirt and honestly, I probably wear it too often. This striped t-shirt (Target - little girl's section...seriously) has some details of it's own but takes on a whole new life over the denim. I paired these layered tops with these fun watermelon Gap trousers, Target nude patent leather flats, a sock bun and this polka dot makeup bag-turned-clutch from Forever 21.

Friday Night Casual

For a casual Friday night of movies and lounging with great company, there is nothing better than a casual but cute outfit. These drawstring shorts are so comfortable and were a great steal from Charlotte Russe. I love these new glittery sandals from Target (under $9) - they are perfect for sassing up a more casual outfit. I topped off the outfit with a pullover chambray shirt (TJ Maxx) and a middle part ponytail. Voila - casual chic!

Mixing Neutrals & Brights

I'm a huge fan of these watermelon-colored pants (from Gap). Not only do they have a little stretched to them, but they are the perfect length (everyone knows it's a tough world for a girl with short legs to find pants that are the correct length). In order to not be too overpowering in this hue, I opted for a toned down denim top (TJ Maxx) with nude heels (Zara - not majorly uncomfortable!). I layered gold bracelets (a mix from H&M, Forever 21 and Francesca's) and my Michael Kors boyfriend watch. The bold necklace (J.Crew) ties the outfit together and adds a little color on top. Not bad for throwing something together before rushing out the door.

Cute in Cobain

This has to be one of my favorite outfits that I've put together in the last few months. The Kurt Cobain t-shirt (from Forever 21 - $8) gives a little edge to these patterned pants (H&M, duh). I love the unexpected mix here. I chose my new Zara black heels and a chunky chain necklace (channeling my inner Mr. T - available at Express). Topped with red lip stain and white nails, the look is complete! Edgy and fun - perfect attire for a girlfriend reunion!

Polka Dots & Pumps

Finally - a new pair of hammer pants! That is a cause for celebration in my world. These pants (from Forever 21) were only $15 and are so fun! I paired these comfy pants with a tan knitted top (H&M) and Aldo patent leather nude heels. I spiced up this ensemble with a fun ring from Forever 21, a long gold necklace from Ann Taylor and an assortment of fun gold bracelets for a little arm candy action. Yes, it's true that by 1 pm my feet were blistered and in pain...but they looked good. Mind over matter, honey...mind.over.matter.

Basic Black & White

While everyone drops a "I need to quit buying so many black clothing items" while shopping, black and white is so easy to wear. It's easy to match, looks clean and is classic. So, when the opportunity comes around for a fun black and white cotton maxi, you can only imagine how all over it I actually am. Maxi dresses are such perfect option for a Monday. One stop shop, doll! This maxi is from H&M. These fun gold and black shoes are from Target. On my wrist: Michael Kors watch and H&M bracelets.

Red, White and Blonde (I mean...Blue)

Whether you are hitting the beach, a bar, a BBQ or a pool party, you should be looking your best this 4th of July. While layering on the red, white and blue is imperative, there is definitely a classy way of doing this. These outfit options, from www.LaurenConrad.com, are three of my favorite looks. The far left option is perfect for fireworks, house parties, etc. Easy breezy enough for cornhole and still patriotic. The middle look is great for a pool party (could always substitute flats/sandals into this mix) or a BBQ. The look on the far right is a bit more dressed up and would make more sense for a more formal mixer or holiday cocktail hour. If you aren't too crazy about patriotic-colored garments, opt for some red, white and blue nails. Get fancy with nail designs (American flags, stars, stripes or solids). Cheers to a fabulously long and relaxing weekend!

Sparkles, Spikes and Sassy Shoes

There is no better feeling than getting new high heels...in the world, there isn't a better feeling. You'll never be able to convince me otherwise. But, seriously. The arrival of these heels, from Zara, was the only thing that has kept me going since last week. Is it just me or when you know a new pair of heels is coming do you obsess over what the perfect outfit would be divine with them? Thought this would be the perfect opportunity to bust out my tight mustard pencil skirt from H&M. I paired the skirt and heels with this white and black blouse from Forever21. The necklace added a little feminine touch to the buttoned-up blouse. I kept the rest of my jewelry simple (or non-existent) and rocked a little magenta Sephora lipstick for a pop of color. Loving this outfit.

Skulls, Spice and Everything Nice

There is nothing I don't like about skulls right now. They are trendy yet give you just enough of a bad ass edge that you earn a little street cred....okay, well that might be pushing it. Continued the funkiness throughout the outfit with red skinnies, tall black wedge heels, red lips and a top knot bun.If you aren't sure if skulls are for you, maybe start off slow and ease into it. Try a skull bracelet or scarf.

Big Necklace, Big Statement

Since statement pieces like chunky, bright necklaces are so trendy right now, when I find one as fun as the one above, I have to have it! This necklace, from J.Crew, was a great snag during the store's 50% off extravaganza a few weeks ago. I paired this necklace with this white Gap top, navy boyfriend pants and bright orange BCBG wedges.
