Saturday Strolls in Sandals

When you know you're going to be out all Saturday, you dress for a marathon like that. You need to be cute, yet comfortable. For a girl's day, I opt for sparkly sandals like these (from Target). Weaving in and out of Anthropologie isn't an easy feat so make sure you are ready to rock, ladies. 

We Wingtip Around Here

The couple that wingtips together, stays together.
No, that's a not a saying? Well, my boyfriend and I are so head over heels (wingtips) for our kicks. His are from Gilt and are a bit more traditional. Mine...not so traditional and are Sam Edelman. Hop on this trend train, readers. 

It's So Black & White

One color combo trend that I'm all about...all the time...is black and white. I decorated my home in black and white and I love to work this pair of colors into my everyday wardrobe, too. It's such a classic look and it's hard to really mess up these two colors together. Here a some of my favorite black and white pieces out right now that are brilliant.

Emerald Envy

I love any opportunity to show off how lovely my friends are...so here she is, my gal pal Grace again! On her trip to California with her new fiance, Grace strutted her stuff in Napa in this getup. Of course I am obsessing over this skirt - not only my favorite color but also the Pantone color of the year! Perfect length, as well. The graceful bun is a great way to highlight and feature such a pretty and fresh face.

Broach Brilliance

My girlfriend, Jamie, is oh so fabulous today in this Gap shirt and vintage broach combo. Big Heels, Big Hair couldn't pass up the opportunity to feature her fab look! Living in New York City means Jamie gets to flaunt this big city style trend on the streets of The Big Apple. Like Jamie, I've found some of my favorite jewelry pieces at a vintage store or from an older loved one...take a stab at it yourself! 

Dinner Party Do

What is a gal to wear to a friend's dinner party? It sure seemed like the perfect time to bust out these new snakeskin shorts from H&M ($12.95). I went on a rampage in my closet, trying on five different tops with these shorts but ultimately opted for this t-shirt (H&M - $7) and this blazer (Kardashian Kollection). I wore my silver scalloped necklace (Judy's Antiques) and a top knot. For shoes, I tied in a little subtle snakeskin with these White House, Black Market wedges. It was a success!

Scary (Corporate) Spice

If I can find ways to sneak in some of my favorite trends into my work outfits, I'm all about it. This top, from TJ Maxx (for probably $12.99) works perfectly with my mustard pencil skirt (H&M). I layered on my scalloped silver necklace (from Judy's Antiques - $1), dressing up the skull patterned top. I wore my black patent leather Aldo sky-high heels to finish off the outfit. Plus, what a perfect time to flaunt my new skull bracelet from Charming Charlie! Love. 

A Splash of Spikes

I am so jazzed about these fun pants, that I had to bring them out of the closet again. The first time I sported these patterned pants, I opted for a Kurt Cobain shirt...such a fun twist. This time, I went with a spiked top (from TJ Maxx) to add some edge. For heels, I went with my tall, black, patent leather Aldo heels. To finish off the look, I chose a red lip stain (L'Oreal) and a top knot (duh). 

Twist of Lime

A short trip to Charming Charlie turned into quite the adventure for my friend, Mary, and I. Not only did we find amazing arm party pieces, but I found this lime scarf which I "had to have". This is the ultimate summer accessory. Am I right or am I right? What screams summertime more than limes? When I saw this scarf, I was mentally taken to a place or margaritas and beach life. To keep things fresh, I kept the rest of the outfit completely white. My white pants (H&M) and white v-neck (J.Crew) kept things simple and truly made the scarf and lime green loafers (TJ Maxx) pop. I topped off the outfit with some fresh arm candy (from Charming Charlie, Francesca's, Forever 21 and H&M). 

Can't Touch This

I'm all about funky pants. The closer they are to something MC Hammer would wear, the more I'm likely to wear them. I'm not sure what it is that I like about high-waisted pants so much. Is it that they are usually stretchy so when I pig out at lunch, my belly is hidden? Is it that I'm just all too attracted to anything that slightly resembles something a 70-year-old would wear? Either way, you better believe when I'm prancing around in these bad boys (from Target), "Can't Touch This" is on repeat in my head.

Polka Dots & Pumps

Finally - a new pair of hammer pants! That is a cause for celebration in my world. These pants (from Forever 21) were only $15 and are so fun! I paired these comfy pants with a tan knitted top (H&M) and Aldo patent leather nude heels. I spiced up this ensemble with a fun ring from Forever 21, a long gold necklace from Ann Taylor and an assortment of fun gold bracelets for a little arm candy action. Yes, it's true that by 1 pm my feet were blistered and in pain...but they looked good. Mind over matter, honey...mind.over.matter.

Skulls, Spice and Everything Nice

There is nothing I don't like about skulls right now. They are trendy yet give you just enough of a bad ass edge that you earn a little street cred....okay, well that might be pushing it. Continued the funkiness throughout the outfit with red skinnies, tall black wedge heels, red lips and a top knot bun.If you aren't sure if skulls are for you, maybe start off slow and ease into it. Try a skull bracelet or scarf.

L.O.V.E.

LOVING this new LOVE ring from Francesca's. In addition, another new fave are these mid rings I found at Francesca's also. If you know me, you know I'm hopeless romantic so I adore all things "love". Added bonus...it's blingy!

Sneaks are Chic

Absolutely raving about sneakers with dresses and skirts right now. It's just...maj. So, I've taken an outfit I wore with red patent flats and decided you show three different fun sneaks that you could rock. Plus, I've been looking for excuses and reasons to wear these shoes. In the top photo, you'll see my teal Ked-like kicks that are so fun to wear in the summer. Love these with the white skirt - such a fun contrast. Find them in numerous colors from Vans, Keds or even Target (around $15). In the middle photo, I've paired the denim shirt and white high-waisted skirt with Jack Purcell sneaks (a little punky factor with the no-laces look). I've only worn these one (to a movie night - so doesn't even count in my head) so I'm pumped to have a new style to wear these with. The bottom photo shows you the outfit with some hightop dark teal shoes from Urban Outfitters. The point is....time to try out this trend. It's like pairing a leather jacket with a super feminine dress...unexpected but it works.

Best news ever...floral is in and in a major way. This is big deal for me considering I think "granny floral" is heaven-sent. Enjoy this fun, flirty and feminine floral trend...I know I will. Spikes are everywhere. They are on my blazers, they are on my smoking slippers, they are on my jewelry. A belt with spikes AND a bow? Whoa. Totally speaking my language. Find this belt at Zara. Place at the small of your waist over a dress...the perfect way to broadcast such a fabulous accessory. 

Max Out Your Maxi

A fabulous $17.95 army green maxi skirt purchase this weekend brought on flashes of outfit possibilities. But, as always, my first thought is always "How can I make this piece appropriate for work?" So...that's what I've done here...made a maxi skirt work-friendly. I've matched the skirt with staple pieces most gals have in their closet: basic white button up, platform wedges and a bold necklace. Since you are going solids on top and bottom, spicing up your look with bold jewelry is an absolute must. 

Maxi Monday

Maxi dresses on a Monday are a must for this gal. This black and white striped dress is one of my favorites because it's light and perfect for a hot Florida summer day. Instead of pairing it with my favorite denim jacket, I opted for this neutral sweater and added a belt. No complaints here...I'm one comfy lady on this Monday.

Sassy Smoking Slippers

Out with ballet flats...in with smoking slippers. There is a fashion trend among us and it's these Hugh Heffner-esqe works of art. These perfect fall accessories are my way of getting away with wearing slippers in public and even better...at work! Smoking slippers in lady-like hues bridge the masculine and feminine divide. Pair these jazzy shoes with something fall and fashion forward.

Pretty in Pink

I'm just as into color blocking as the next gal, but I'm still a believer that there is something to be said for an outfit like this. All black with one pop of color is easy and works. Here, my friend Holly pairs a black top with black shorts, heels and earrings. She tops it off with a hot pink blazer. Perfect outfit for a summer night out on the town. Pink never goes out of style.
