Living in a Material World

Do NOT underestimate the power of sequins. Don't let things get to busy though when you decide to go all glitz and glam with a top like this. These skinny black pants help perfect this balancing act. I do love the unexpected teal heels with this outfit. Since they are solid, it's not too busy but the color is just enough of a pop. The cuff ties the shoes into the outfit.

Precisely Plum

Add a little somethin' somethin' to your cosmetic wardrobe with a plum liner. Worn your makeup the same way everyday for every event, day or night? This is the perfect way to get out of a makeup slump. Smudge a deep purple liner along your upper and lover lashes, concentrating on the outer edge. Add a slightly dramatic cat eye effect for an extra trendy look. For a bolder look, try dabbing a Q-tip in a similar shade of shadow and use as a liner.

Boots, Scoot, Boogie

Finally making my first cowboy boot purchase, I was eager to start figuring out when I could debut them and what to wear with them. Luckily for me, I had just purchased this white lace H&M dress. I love the idea of pairing cowboy boots with a super feminine outfit. Make sure the dress isn't too long...this dress on is fairly short, allowing a bit of leg between the boots and hem. Jazz up the rest with a splash of color. Cowgirl up!

Glam in Gold

When I get a fun find, I can't help but share it with the world. I was so excited about these earrings, I practically dropped my smoothie right on the floor. $5 later and these precious beauties were all mine. Love these when my hair is up...subtle but glamorous.

What Not To Wear

Listen ladies, I know I said this gorgeous shade of emerald green was the color of the year but let's pump the brakes here. When wearing a bold shade like this, be careful of the colors you are pairing with it. These contrasting colors make for unflattering ensemble.

Sun's Out, Buns Out

I'm in the ever aggravating process of growing my hair out. All I want is a sock bun...is that too much for a girl to ask for? Don't worry...I'm too impatient to actually wait for butt-length hair to get world's best sock bun. So...I've created the best cheat system - use my extensions. To add a little length and thickness for select styles, clip hair extension at top of hair, teasing layers at a time. Then, continue on with creating your sassy sock bun. Sometime a girl just has to use her resources.

Spikes & Such

Spikes are everywhere. They are on my blazers, they are on my smoking slippers, they are on my jewelry. A belt with spikes AND a bow? Whoa. Totally speaking my language. Find this belt at Zara. Place at the small of your waist over a dress...the perfect way to broadcast such a fabulous accessory.

Second Day Hair: Part 2

Time to recycle your hair and rock that second day hair. To get Kim's look, tease your hair from your bangs back about 4 inches to the top of your head. Slick the rest of your hair up into a ponytail. Use your comb to pull hair on top of head up away from your scalp. Leave the sides tight into your ponytail. Tease the hanging hair in your ponytail for a little extra va-voom! Pump up that pony, ladies.

Max Out Your Maxi

A fabulous $17.95 army green maxi skirt purchase this weekend brought on flashes of outfit possibilities. But, as always, my first thought is always "How can I make this piece appropriate for work?" So...that's what I've done here...made a maxi skirt work-friendly. I've matched the skirt with staple pieces most gals have in their closet: basic white button up, platform wedges and a bold necklace. Since you are going solids on top and bottom, spicing up your look with bold jewelry is an absolute must.

Fit: Face-Friendly

Always on the market for new products...especially ones that make my face look a little less flawed and little more flawless. On one of my 384237 trips to Target, I swiped these Fit products by Maybelline. So far, so good! This line comes in so many shades - you are sure to find one that matches your skin tone perfectly. This foundation provides great coverage and the powder zaps shine. Not to mention, you won't be emptying your bank account because these products range around $5. Cha-ching!

Wonder Waves

Long for hair like the Kardashians? I do. Daily. Daydreaming about waves like Kourtney's? I do. Everyday.
Here is my only tip besides considering serious extensions...make sure you are curling your hair away from your face.

Second Day Hair: Part 1

Since we have all learned by now it isn't fabulous for your hair to wash it everyday, it's time to learn how to work that second day hair the right way. Here we have a messy horse show bun. What will you need for this look? Hairspray. Comb. Bobby pins. Don't be afraid to tease your hair...this look won't be pulled off the same without the height, honey. Also, make sure to not make the bun too neat and tidy. A little messy makes this what it is.

#Pinning

If you enjoy posts from Big Heels, Big Hair..."pin" to your Pinterest boards and share with others!

Mani Must

I'm sure you've heard of gel/shellac manicures but if you haven't actually tried it, shame on you! Yes, of course it's a little more expensive but all things of quality are. I'm one of those women that notices one small chip in her nail polish and is in a state of absolutely panic until I I have removed the polish. No one likes a chipped mani...no one. My one recommendation: ask for three coats of the gel polish. This polish stays shiny for longer. Want to add a little sass? Ask for an ombre glitter design, like above.

Purr-fection

There is nothing I love more in life than this outfit. When I paired my denim top with high-waisted hot pink pants and a leopard print belt, I thought it was genius...then I saw this outfit. Consider my outfit old news. This collaboration is what I would call purr-fection. I love the mix of leopard print with the patterned skirt. Mixing patterns just excites me. Since your denim shirt may be not so fitting (like above), it's important that you define your waist so you don't lose your figure in a sea of fabric and patterns.

Beauty on a Budget: Lotion

I've had a beauty product hoarding problem since before there were shows about hoarding. I can finally cut down one product from 7 bottles to 1 because this lady found a winner. I'm the type of girl that walks down the lotion aisle, smelling literally every brand and scent until they find the perfect combination of clean and feminine scents. This Nivea daily lotion passed the sniff test but then I brought it home and tried it and BAM. "Extended Moisture" was no joke. My legs feel like silk allllll day. Toss the rest, keep the best.

Scrumptious Sherbet: So Spring

Spring will be here before you know it so let's not be unprepared. What two shades are going to be major? Coral and mint green, of course. Mix these colors together and with neutrals for the ultra chic spring look.  You scream...I scream...we all scream for...flattering shades?
Shorts. Sunglasses. Purse. Flats. Top. Earrings. Scarf. Polish. Gloss
